Discovering my hands & other new tricks

Hello!

here are some photos mummy has been taking of me this week to show you what new things i have been learning.

For starters I have discovered that i have hands, and i love putting them in my mouth after my milk. I make a big mess slobbering everywhere (especially mummy's shoulder). In fact, i think i'm loving my hands more than my milk...

I am also being very social and talking to my friends the Lion and Elephant, they hang out with me in my playgym. I try and reach out for them and sometimes i get lucky!

There is also a photo of me being a good girl sleeping in my cot, see how tiny i am? Mind you i have chubby little legs, mummy took a photo of me mid-nappy change. I asked her to please not post any photos of me naked. So there is a nappy covering me up. She also covered me up for the bath photo. I look pretty serious but in fact i love being in the bath...

And today mummy took a picture of me that looks like it was a self-portrait- see how it looks like I am the one holding the camera?? cheeky!!

8 weeks old today!

and i get cuter every day mummy says... I'm learning to go to sleep all on my own without any help, Daddy says he is proud of my good efforts, i'm slowly getting better at it, and i don't cry so much either these days.

I've also started smiling a lot more and make little sounds when i want to talk to people. Mummy loves it and it makes her laugh. My favourite thing is to sit in my rocker or lie on my playgym and reach for dangling things. I can reach and touch them but i don't realise they are MY hands doing the reaching! Soon...

I love bath time and i hate getting out! Daddy says we'll try going in the shower one of these days. I love the water so that should be fun!

In the photos above I feature with mummy, awelita ani, aunty claudia and aunty kylie.
Ok, that's all for now. Mummy says that in a few days i have to have some shots but since i have chubby legs it shouldn't hurt so much. What are shots???????

Hello World!

Catching Up...

This diary is being written by my mummy Pachita for all the people who love me who are far away and want to know how life is going.

She says she will use this blog to write down all the important things that are happening in my life, with lots of photos. Maybe when i learn how to read I will have a look at this one day...

So in this post she will tell you what's happened so far:

  • I was born May 29th, after a 36hr labour (she says it hurt but i was worth it). I ended up coming to the world via Caesarean section as I was facing the wrong way to be born naturally (naughty me!)

  • She says that to stop herself from being nervous, her and daddy sang Bob Marley songs while I was coming out into the world. "Three Little Birds" was a favourite. She also sang this a lot to me when i was in her tummy.

  • When i first came out I was 3.4kg and I looked so much like my tia Pauly. Mummy says that's because she wasn't here to meet me in person, and through me she made herself present.

  • I drank breast milk from a bottle for about 3 and 1/2 weeks (she says it tasted sweet. I can't remember). After that I started drinking yummy formula. I love it.
  • When I was 4 weeks old, daddy gave me a cold (good one daddy!) It was very hard to breathe and at night i made a lot of noise. I sounded like a little pug. But i got better soon after with lots of love and care, and Fess nose drops. I don't like those much...

  • When I was 5 weeks old I started smiling at people. I have a little dimple on my left cheek just like daddy, and it shows every time i smile (and cry).

  • At 7 weeks i started making saliva, and i love blowing raspberries when i sit in my rocker. I also slobber all over my hands when i am on my tummy. I make a big mess.

  • Tomorrow I turn 8 weeks and mummy will tell you more about what has happened lately. Both her and daddy are very happy and proud of my achievements.

Lots of love,

Abi xx
